Gas components for vehicles

Kiwa Gastec has extensive experience of testing (alternative) gas fuel components and cylinders/containers for the automobile industry. Our technical services are accredited by RDW (the Dutch Vehicle Approval and Information Certifying Authority).

We carry out testing according to several Regulations (see below) and, based upon our test report, RDW issue an E4 type-approval certificate(s) which are accepted, without any additional National requirements, throughout the European Union.

The E4 certification consists of a technical part, which relates to the testing of the component (done by Kiwa and/or partners) and a part called conformity of production (COP). COP concerns the verification of adequate arrangements for ensuring sufficient quality of the design and ongoing production of the component in question. Kiwa Gastec and the approval authority RDW handle the COP.

Besides the notification of this, Kiwa Gastec is since 2 years accredited by RDW for testing LPG on the R 67-01 (LPG-1; Metal containers and LPG-4; all-composite containers) and CNG on board containers (for CNG even all types: the full metal; CNG-1, the hope wrapped; CNG-2, the fully wrapped; CNG-3 and the all composite; CNG-4) on the R110.

Kiwa has established good working relationships with manufacturers involved in LPG, CNG and even hydrogen, all over the world. Our expertise and technical knowledge is usually sufficient to answer most questions.

Many of our customers have approved CNG components according to ISO15500 for the World wide market where Kiwa reports and declarations are very well recognized and accepted.
