2009-07-21 Insulating double glazing subsidizes for Dutch market
Insulating glass units are subject to subsidization since October 1st 2009. It’s however also applicable to glass placed from July 1st 2009. Only glass classified as HR++ is applicable.
HR++ glass (High Rendement-glazing) is insulating glass with better characteristics than normal insulating glazing. These products have a coating one of the glass sheets and are filled with Argon gas.
Consumers can get up to 20% reduction on their investment costs. Also the tax (VAT/BTW) has been reduced for insulating matierials from 19% to 6%.
HR++ glass has the following characteristics:
- The insulation value (U-value) has to 1.2 or less.
- Light transmittance (Tv-value) has to be higher than 70%
Solarreflective HR++ (ZHR++) has the following characteristics:
- The insulation value (U-value) has to 1.2 or less.
- Light transmittance (Tv-value) has to be higher than 60%
- Solar transmittance (g-value) has to be 40% or less.
Durability:
To make sure HR++ glass retains it’s characterics during it’s life time, it is subject to extensive testing. These tests are heavier than tests required in the European guidelines (EN 1279-5)
If you want to make sure your glass is applicable for subsidizing, than ask your supplier for the KOMO certificate. This certificate describes the product characteristics per type, spacer width and gasfilling.
